Members of the Word makes Bible Studies for Women, one of the apps in this guide. We checked every other app's price and features on its App Store listing, Google Play listing or official site on September 29, 2026. Prices are in US dollars and can vary by country.
A "daily prayer app" can mean four different things: a set liturgy such as Morning and Evening Prayer, a prayer list you work through, prayer that starts from a Bible passage, or a guided audio session. Most results mix them, and some are Muslim prayer-times apps. This guide covers Christian apps only.
The apps that rank for this search also lean heavily on audio, and few say where your prayers are stored. If you want to pray quietly in your own words, or keep what you write private, that is hard to tell from a store listing.
So we sorted seven apps by how you pray and by tradition, and we show each app's App Store privacy label. We checked every app on the App Store, Google Play and its own website on September 29, 2026.

1. Bible Studies for Women
Best for quiet, Scripture-led daily prayer in writing, with prayer requests
Bible Studies for Women gives you a place to pray each day that starts from Scripture. The Today screen has a verse of the day with context, a short reflection and today's prayer.
The Prayer tab adds guided prayers drawn from Scripture, prayer prompts, quiet prayer and a way to pray with today's verse. Your prayer requests are kept as ongoing or answered.
If you also follow a study, every session ends with Pray it through, so your prayer follows from the passage you have just read. Writing is always optional.
Everything you write stays on your phone, with no account, no ads and no third-party analytics.

Morning and Evening Prayer apps, by church
If you want to pray a set office, the right app is the one that follows your church's prayer book and calendar. These are the ones we would use.
- Episcopal Church (1979 BCP): Venite, free.
- Church of England: Daily Prayer, free, with an optional subscription for offline use.
- Anglican Church in North America (2019 BCP): The Daily Office, free, with morning, midday, evening and compline prayer.
- Catholic Liturgy of the Hours: Divine Office, free with audio. Universalis is a one-time $9.99 on iPhone and $12.99 on Android, with every text built in for offline use. Laudate is free and adds Mass readings, the rosary and the Catechism.
- Not tied to one church: the Daily Prayer App from RethinkMe adapts the Book of Common Prayer into four prayer times a day, free, but it has not been updated since March 2025.
Prayer list apps
Some people pray daily through a list of names and needs rather than a set text. PrayerMate is free and shows one person or topic from each of your categories each day. Echo Prayer is free for a personal list with reminders and answered prayers.
Bible Studies for Women keeps prayer requests too, as ongoing or answered, but it is not built for long rotating lists. Our guide to the best prayer apps compares these list apps in more detail.
How private is a daily prayer app?
Prayers can be the most personal thing you write. Before you choose, check the App Store privacy label on the listing, whether the app needs an account, and whether your entries sync to a server.
- Data Not Linked to You on the App Store: Lectio 365, Divine Office and Pray As You Go.
- Some Data Linked to You: Venite and Daily Prayer.
- Data Used to Track You: Hallow.
- No account at all: Bible Studies for Women keeps your journal and prayer requests on your phone, and Pray As You Go needs no registration.

How we chose
We started from the apps that rank for "daily prayer app" and "best daily prayer app" today, kept the Christian ones, and chose seven that cover the four ways people pray daily: a set liturgy, a devotional rhythm, audio, and prayer in writing.
We checked each app on the App Store, Google Play and its own website on September 29, 2026, and compared how you pray, tradition, price and the App Store privacy label.
We make Bible Studies for Women and placed it first for one kind of reader: someone who wants quiet, Scripture-led prayer in writing, kept private. For fixed-hour liturgy or audio prayer, we recommend the other apps here instead.

Lectio 365 is free with morning, midday and night prayer. Pray As You Go is a free daily audio prayer, and Venite and Divine Office are free for the daily offices.
