The short answer
The best faith app for Scripture, study, a journal and prayer in one quiet app is Bible Studies for Women ($79.99 a year). The best free faith app is YouVersion, a full Bible with thousands of plans. - Best all-in-one: Bible Studies for Women, with the Bible, guided studies, a private journal and prayer in one app ($7.99 a month or $79.99 a year, no free trial).

- Best for prayer: Hallow for Catholic audio prayer, or Echo Prayer for a free prayer list.
- Best daily devotional: Glorify for a guided 10-minute quiet time, or Lectio 365 free.

Members of the Word makes Bible Studies for Women, one of the apps in this guide. We checked every other app's price and features on its App Store listing, Google Play listing or official site on September 29, 2026. Prices are in US dollars and can vary by country.
Several unrelated apps are named "Faith". This guide does not review them. It covers Christian faith apps more broadly, so you can find one that fits what you want to do.
That matters because "faith app" covers very different tools: a Bible reader, a prayer list, a daily devotional, a meditation app, or an AI chat that answers your questions.
So we sort the list by goal and mark which apps give AI-generated answers. We checked every app on the App Store, Google Play and its developer's site on September 29, 2026.

1. Bible Studies for Women
Best for Scripture, study, journal and prayer in one quiet app
Bible Studies for Women puts the four things most people want from a faith app in one place: a full Bible, guided studies, a private journal and prayer. It earns first place for keeping them together, quietly, with no feed or chat.
The Today screen opens with a verse of the day, with its context, a reflection and a prayer. From there you continue your study, pray, or open the Bible.
Twelve guided plans of seven sessions take you through a passage step by step, with The Breakdown explaining it in plain words, at about 5, 10 or 20 minutes through the same study.
Your reflections, notes, highlights and prayer requests gather in a journal stored on your phone, with no account, no ads and no AI reading your entries.
- Best for
- Scripture, study, journal and prayer in one quiet app

- Study days you choose: daily, twice a week, weekly or every two weeks
Worth knowing
- It is paid: $7.99 a month or $79.99 a year, with no free version and no free trial.
- There is no audio, no community and no AI chat. If you want to listen, Hallow or Abide will suit you better.

Which faith apps use AI-generated answers?
Two popular faith apps answer your questions with AI. Bible Chat calls itself an AI faith app. [Blessed](https://blessedapp.com) has a Bible Chat feature for questions, and its privacy policy lists OpenAI's GPT among its service providers. Google Play labels Blessed "Contains ads".
None of the other store listings in this guide mention an AI chat. Bible Studies for Women has no AI chat, and no AI reads what you write in its journal.
AI answers can be quick and helpful, but they can also be wrong with confidence. Treat them as a starting point, and read the passage itself.
Faith apps by goal
Start with what you want the app to help you do.

- A daily devotional: Glorify for a guided 10-minute quiet time, and Lectio 365 free. Our guide to the best daily devotional apps compares nine.
- Meditation and sleep: Abide, or [Pray.com](https://www.pray.com), a large audio library of prayers and Bible stories whose App Store listing shows several premium prices without billing periods.

How we chose
We looked at what ranks for faith app searches today, set aside apps simply named "Faith", and chose nine Christian apps on both iPhone and Android that cover Scripture, prayer, devotionals and meditation.
We checked each app on the App Store, Google Play and its developer's site on September 29, 2026, and noted its main goal, price, what is free and whether its listing or site describes AI-generated answers.
We make Bible Studies for Women and placed it first because it brings Scripture, study, a journal and prayer together in one quiet app. For free Bible reading, audio prayer or meditation, other apps here are better choices.
